Sarnia taught me my first year of studies. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Sarnia helped me understand anything that I struggled with and she makes learning enjoyable. Because of the first year I had with Sarnia it has made me want to carry on my studies and I hope I will have the opportunity to be taught by Sarnia in the future.

"When I decided to go back to school the prospect was a very daunting one, especially as many years had passed since I last studied. I was now an adult seeking a new qualification and felt out of my depth. One can only wish, when deciding to take on a new personal endeavour to study, that you will be encouraged, supported and empowered by the one who will teach you. I found Sarnia to be just so. And just like one of those teachers people remember from their childhood, Sarnia left that influential lasting impression in my adult learning - a fantastic tutor and a source of guidance that I will never forget.
I took the 1st year skills course last year and sarnia was my tutor. I didn't know what to expect and she made it easy and comfortable from the off. ( for me to find
anything academic easy is a miracle and for me to be comfortable is even less likely than a miracle) Sarnia managed to make each lesson interesting and packed it with information in a way that I
could understand and digest. She was easily available with as much help as I needed yet I felt gave us a lot of freedom and space. Through the duration of this course I felt constantly challenged
often to my limit, at those times I would book a tutorial with sarnia and it would be like hitting a reset button to my nerves and confidence. Her often blunt honesty and appropriately timed
challenges furthered my confidence and learning experience and in short felt like it cut through a lot of crap. I love that she called me on my stuff. I will miss her greatly and know she will do
well in whatever she pursues in this field. I hope I get to work with her again one day whether it be in supervision, as a tutor further down the line or now she's not my tutor as a therapist which
I'd jump at.

I felt like a friend was taking me through a journey as opposed to being taught counselling skills. I was never academic so surprised myself when I managed to complete my learning reviews. Sarnia taught in a way that I didn't feel I was being taught, the course was kept interesting and fun. I felt supported throughout and feel more capable going into my next year. Thank you Sarnia.

Sarnia is a great teacher – she clearly has a passion for counselling, teaching and helping her students to learn. Her teaching style is very personable and she immediately put me at ease with her friendly nature. Sarnia also helped me to challenge myself and explore topics in new ways. . . her future students will be lucky to have her.

"I can honestly say that Sarnia's teaching has changed my life for the better. Her style ranges from gentle nurturing to full on congruency, but always
timing the need for either perfectly to bring out the best in me"

" My experience of studying with Sarnia was both challenging and exciting. She really gets behind the work that she does and I could always feel her passion for
helping others on their journey to self awareness. I made some very valuable self discoveries whilst learning with Sarnia. "

I was fortunate enough to have Sarnia as my tutor for CSK-L2 skills course in 2014-15. Sarnia’s patience knows no bounds, especially when dealing with, on occasion, panic stricken 1st year students. She has an intuitive sense for when someone has not completely understood something and will find another way of explaining it until it becomes clear. Sarnia’s knowledge of her field is extensive and her passion for the subject contagious. Sarnia’s warm and engaging personality coupled with her true desire for each student to reach their full potential ensured that my 1st year of studies were an enjoyable and exciting period.
